Leeds Arts University History

Leeds Arts University abbreviated as LAU is a British art school located in the city of Leeds, Yorkshire. The university was established as Leeds School of Art in 1846 and was renamed Jacob Kramer College, Leeds College of Art and Design, and Leeds College of Art subsequently adopting its present name in 2017 after being conferred university status. It currently enrols over 1800 students.

It offers a number of accommodation options both on-campus and off-campus. All accommodation options are located within the walking distance of the campus and offer modern facilities. Accommodation is self-catered and allows the students to live with other creative students from Leeds Arts University.

On-Campus: The university offers urban housing options located in the Hepworth Loge, iQ Leeds, and Carr Mills. The accommodation is available on a first-come, first-serve basis and it is recommended to apply early as the spaces are limited.

The hourly wages in the city range between GBP 6.50 to GBP 8.90 depending upon the type of work and students can work 20 hours a week during the term time. During holidays, students are free to work full-time up to 40 hours per week.
