Lesley University History

Edith Lesley founded the Lesley School (also known as the Lesley Normal School) in 1909 at her home on Everett Street in Cambridge. The school began as a private women's institution where kindergarten teachers were trained. Lesley School was reorganized under a board of trustees in 1941; in 1944, it was granted the authority to award baccalaureate degrees and became known as Lesley University.

Lesley University, through its undergraduate colleges, graduate schools, and centers, offers over 20 undergraduate majors and over 90 Adult Bachelor's, Master's, Certificates of Advanced Graduate Study, and Ph.D. programs on its Cambridge and Boston campuses, as well as off-campus and online. The Lesley Center for the Adult Learner provides an adult bachelor's degree program that includes on-campus and off-campus courses, as well as online and hybrid courses designed for adult learners.

 Lesley University's main campus is in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Lesley University is divided into three campuses: the South campus, the Double campus, and the Porter campus.    Lesley University's library/Archives collects, preserves, and organizes historical documents for students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the general public to research. The Lesley University Archives collects and preserves manuscripts, publications, administrative records, photographs, audiovisual materials, school memorabilia, and related ephemera documenting Lesley's history from its inception in 1909 to the present.

Lesley University's Residential Life department provides housing services. Undergraduates live in university residence halls. Lesley University Medical services

The Lesley University medical services provided students health center. There are no office visit fees for appointments for medical, mental health, and wellness services. Its doctors, family nurse practitioners, and registered nurses provide regular health and wellness services such as sports and travel physicals, general check-ups, clearance exams for volunteer work or internships, reproductive and sexual health exams, contraception, and related health education. In addition, the centre provides problem-focused injury and illness care. Local specialists may be recommended to students with special medical needs on an as-needed basis.
