Liberty University's history started in the year 1971 by Jerry Falwell Senior and Elmer L. Towns. It was founded as Lynchburg Baptist College. It was renamed Liberty Baptist College in 1976 and again renamed in 1984 as Liberty University. It is one of the world’s largest Christian Universities.
