Lipscomb University History

Lipscomb University was founded in 1891 by two friends, David Lipscomb and James A. Harding. Now, it’s the largest private school of its kind in Middle Tennessee. The first president was James A. Harding. Its original name was the Nashville Bible School, which was changed to David Lipscomb College and then to Lipscomb University.

Campus

Lipscomb University’s main campus is in Nashville, nestled in the thriving Green Hills. The campus has all essential facilities residence halls, a library, athletic facilities, and so on. The center of the university known as Bison Square is located between the Bennett campus center and Willard Collins Alumni Auditorium. The college has one more campus Allen Arena a multipurpose facility opened in October 2001, for Gymnasium, student activity center, indoor track, etc.
