Meredith College History

Meredith College’s history started in 1891 as Baptist Female University. It changed its name to Baptist University for Women in 1904. The real name was chosen in the year 1909 in honor of Thomas Meredith. He was the founder of the Baptist newspaper, The Biblical Recorder.
