What are the minimum qualifications for admission to graduate programs?

The minimum formal qualification is a Bachelor's degree with a minimum CGPA of 2.5/4.00 or equivalent from a recognized university. Non-native English applicants must provide a recognized certificate of English proficiency such as IELTS, TOEFL IBT (minimum 79), or METU English Proficiency Exam (minimum 65)

How and when can I apply to graduate programs?

Online applications are accepted year-round, with evaluations made from February 1st to July 30th each year for the coming academic year. The online application requires 9 steps including personal details, educational background, statement of interest, and academic references. No application fee is charged

What Merit Scholarship opportunities are available for undergraduate students?

The Merit Scholarship is available to undergraduate students who are among the top 3% of their program based on CGPA, have completed the first two semesters, maintain a GPA of at least 3.00/4.00 in the last two semesters, take a normal course load, and have no disciplinary issues

What financial support options exist for graduate students?

Two forms of financial support are available: Graduate Research Scholarships (which partially or wholly cover tuition fees) and Graduate Assistantships (which provide a monthly stipend plus free accommodation subject to occupancy charges). Students indicate their interest in scholarships during Step 8 of the online application process. Positions are limited and competitive, evaluated on merit by the Graduate Program Committee

What are the accommodation options and fees on campus?

Dormitory options include single bedrooms in suites, rooms for 2 or 4 people, and dedicated graduate rooms. For the 2025-2026 academic year, fees range from 2,859 USD to 5,925 USD annually depending on dormitory and room type. A 200 USD deposit fee is required. All rooms are equipped with air conditioning, central heating, internet connection, internal telephone lines, air fryer, and kettle

How do I apply for dormitory accommodation and what are the payment deadlines?

First Phase applications are accepted between June 1st and June 30th, with results announced on July 11th and payments due by August 8th. Second Phase applications run from August 26th to September 8th, with results announced on September 11th and payments due by September 20th. First-year students receive placement guarantee if they apply in the First Phase, select all dorm options, and pay by the deadline

Can international students work while studying at METU NCC?

A residence permit does not automatically grant the right to work. Undergraduate students can obtain a work permit for part-time jobs outside the campus only after completing their first year. Graduate students can obtain a work permit for both full-time and part-time jobs outside the campus starting from their first year. The employer must apply for the work permit on the student's behalf

What are the visa options after graduation?

Turkish laws allow graduates of Turkish higher education institutions to obtain a one-year residence permit for job-seeking purposes. To qualify, graduates must apply for a short-term residence permit within six months after graduation under the "those who graduated from a Turkish university" category. If a graduate obtains a work permit after finding employment, that permit also serves as a residence permit .
