Middle Tennessee State University History

Middle Tennessee State University started in the year 1911 as Middle Tennessee State Normal School. It started with a two-year program for training teachers and turned into a four-year teachers’ college by 1925. It was renamed Middle Tennessee State Teachers College. In 1965, it got University status and became Middle Tennessee State University.
