Moscow State Linguistic University History

Moscow State Linguistic University was established in the year 1804. It is a public university which is situated in Moscow in Russia. It got its name changed several times from Moscow Imperial Commercial School to Moscow Institute of New Languages to Maurice Thorez Moscow State Pedagogical Institute of Foreign Languages to its present status and name.

Moscow State Linguistic University Programs, Courses and Schools

Moscow State Linguistic University comprises of nine academic faculties, language centres, two institutes and graduate school. It offers bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degree programs in various disciplines. Students can also opt for research, foreign language courses and student exchange program.

It holds language experts in around 35 languages as a part of their faculty team. Additional courses include distance education, pre-university trainings, military trainings, professional retraining, professional development programs, short term courses and can join summer training courses.

According to RAEX Rankings, it has been ranked among the top 10 universities of the country for its teaching in humanities. It students have won many awards and prizes like Brussels Dialogue youth discussion game and many more. It has gained affiliations from several international organisations.

Scholarships and grants are awarded to students on the basis of their education and other set criteria. Students can also apply for these as a financial assistance.
