Mount Saint Vincent University History
Mount Sain Vincent University’s history started in 1873. It was started by the Sisters of Charity of Saint Vincent de Paul, Halifax. Mount Saint Vincent was one of the few institutions of higher education for women and girls in Canada at a time when women could not vote. The first present at Mount Saint Vincent University was Mary Evaristus Moran and the current president is Ramona Lumpkin.
