National Polytechnic School History

National Polytechnic School was established in the year 1869. It is a public university which is situated in Quito in Ecuador. It was started as Polytechnic Superior Institute, later renamed to Escuela Politecnica Nacional. It was established as the first research institute of Ecuador and also its second oldest university.

National Polytechnic School Programs, Courses and Schools

National Polytechnic School comprises of eight academic faculties, 20 departments and nine innovation and research centres. Students can apply for bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degree programs. Students can also apply for research studies, student exchange program and virtual learning course.

Each class is with less average number of students with low student to faculty ratio. Faculties of the university are trained and skilled in their area of study. Additional programs available for the students include continuing education program, professional master’s and research master’s program.Technical Training School is also the part of the university.

National Polytechnic School Campuses

National Polytechnic School covers an area of 38 acres with urban buildings and all up-to-date facilities. It is situated in the sector-centre with services like cafeteria, recreational area, museums, transportation facilities, internet access, theatre, auditorium, healthcare centre, sports facility, pool, fitness centre and technology equipped labs and centres. There are student clubs and unions which help in personality development of student. University media include bulletin, editorial and radio station.

University library is the multimedia facility stocked with books, journals, research guides, study material, repository, archives and catalogues. Digital and other services include e-services, databases, computer systems, study and training rooms, webinar and tutorial centres, help centre and borrowing services.

National Polytechnic School is the highly renowned and internationally acclaimed university. It is ranked among the top 61 universities of the country according to Web University Rankings. The Times Higher Education has ranked it among the top 100 universities of Latin America and it has improved its ranking in the past few years. It is among the top four universities of the country who are supposed to grow most. It is among the top universities for its investigation.

Scholarships, grants and other forms of financial assistances are granted to the students in the form of reward. Students can apply for these on meeting the criteria.
