On January 10, 2007, UNCo achieved a landmark in space exploration with the launch of Pehuensat-1, an educational satellite entirely built in Argentina. The project involved five years of collaboration among 17 faculty members and 44 students from the Faculty of Engineering. The satellite was launched aboard a rocket from the Satish Dhawan Space Center in India.

In 2009, UNCo faculty initiated a project to obtain and process fibers from regional Creole goats, a valuable resource in northern Neuquén. The goal was to contribute to sustainable production while conserving natural resources. The project's initial phase achieved significant commercialization of these fibers, encouraging local producers to adopt this alternative production method.
In 2009, UNCo developed an innovative statistical education software designed to enhance the effectiveness of teaching statistics in schools and universities.
