National University of Costa Rica History
National University of the Republic of Costa Rica, is one amongst 5 public universities within the Republic of Costa Rica, in Central America. It was established in the year 1973 in the province of Heredia.
National University of Costa Rica Programs, Courses, and Schools
The National University of Costa Rica offers more than 65 graduate and postgraduate degree programs in various fields, such as natural sciences, earth, and marine sciences, education, social sciences, health sciences, philosophy, literature, and arts. More than 12,000 students study in its main campus. In addition to offering a broad undergraduate curriculum, it offers 16 Master of Arts degrees.
National University of Costa Rica Campuses
The National University of Costa Rica has two academic campuses: Campus Liberia and Campus Nicoya that serve the needs of the Chorotega Region primarily, and also students from other regions of Costa Rica, as well as from other countries. The main campus was named to honor a notable Costa Rican professional, Omar Dengo Guerrero World Health Organization spent his education career at the conventional college of Costa Rica, that eventually became the National University.

The National University of Costa Rica, recently elected to represent the academic sector in the University Council of the UNA, Tomás Marino Herrera proposes dialogue and conviction to promote actions for the benefit of the University. The current mission defines the Headquarters as an academic center of higher education that generates, shares and disseminates knowledge in a humanistic, critical, creative and committed to human development, through teaching, research, extension and other forms of academic production for the well-being of populations in conditions of vulnerability.

The National University of Costa Rica, was ranked in 2019 by World University Rankings. According to recent international studies, The National University of Central American country ranks 85th in the geographical region and 1567th within the world. The university has always been committed by its motto of “The Truth makes us Free”. The university also provides Scholarships for students.
