Norwegian University of Science and Technology History

Norwegian University of Science and Technology also known as NTNU is a public research university located in Norway. The university dates back to 1760 with the foundation of Trondheim Academy followed by a series of mergers with higher education institutions subsequently being established in its present form in the year 1996.

Norwegian University of Science and Technology has 9 faculties further divided into 65 departments. The university offers a wide array of programs in Civil and Environmental Engineering, Geosciences, Marine Technology, ICT and Natural Sciences, Biology, Chemistry, Architecture and Planning, Management, Economics, Fine Arts, and Material Science to name a few.

Norwegian University of Science and Technology’s departments of Archaeology, Natural History, and Cultural History forms the NTNU University Museum.  Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences offers programs in Clinical and Molecular Medicine, Neuro-medicine and Movement Science, Circulation and Medical Imaging, Public Health and Nursing, and Systems Neuroscience.

The university is highly selective thereby the acceptance rate is low. Moreover, there is no tuition fee for international students.
