Okanagan College is a public, post-secondary institution established in 1963. Okanagan College has since grown to be the largest college in British Columbia outside the Lower Mainland and Victoria. It operates four campuses in British Columbia at Kelowna, Penticton, Vernon, and Salmon Arm.
Programs that may be of interest to international students include ESL courses/language training, vocational and trades programs and four-year degrees in both Business and Computer Information Systems. Many students also choose the university transfer program which allows students a smooth transition and cost-saving entry method into many of Canada’s most prestigious universities. This program includes courses in history, literature, psychology, chemistry, biology, physics and gender studies.
Okanagan College offers a variety of career-focused programs with small class sizes including academic, vocational, trades, apprenticeship and continuing education programs and courses. Total student population at the college is more than 8,500 students (across all campuses) of which over 1,000 are international students.
Okanagan College’s Kelowna campus is located in the heart of Kelowna, the largest city in B.C.’s Okanagan Valley. The college is a home to a full spectrum of programs in Arts and Science, Business, Trades, Technologies, Health, Continuing Studies, and Vocational programs. It offers full four-year degree programs, trades and apprenticeship training, as well as certificates, and university transfer programs. Recognized worldwide for the fruit from its lush orchards, today the city is a major player in the fields of technology and business, with companies like Club Penguin and YourTechOnline getting their start here.
