Okanagan College was founded in 1906 in Summerland, British Columbia, Canada and was the first college in the province. Okanagan College has long played a significant part in the growth of the region, dating back to 1963.

In 1995, the name was changed to Okanagan University College (OUC), but on July 1, 2005, when OUC was separated into Okanagan College and UBC Okanagan, it was renamed Okanagan College.
