In 1995, the institution's name was changed to Okanagan University College, but the older name Okanagan College was re-adopted on July 1, 2005, as Okanagan University College was divided into Okanagan College and University of British Columbia Okanagan.

In 1963 Okanagan College was founded. Okanagan College is a public, post-secondary institution with more than 120 certificates, diplomas, degrees and programs as well as trades programs. The College’s largest campus is situated in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada. Vernon campus is a satellite campus located in Vernon, Canada.
