The Pepperdine University is private university and was founded by the entrepreneur George Pepperdine in 1937. The university is located on 830 acres campus in Malibu, California. Pepperdine University follows a semester based academic calendar. The university offers more than 70 programs through its 5 graduate and under graduate schools: Undergraduate College of Letters (Seaver College), Arts and Sciences; School of Law; School of Business and Management; Graduate School of Education and Psychology; and School of Public Policy. In addition to its Malibu campus, the University offers graduate courses at California campuses in Los Angeles, Irvine, Santa Clara, Encino and Westlake Village. The school also has facilities in Argentina, England, Switzerland, Germany, Italy and Washington, D.C.
The university has a total student population of more than 7,600 of which over 3,500 are enrolled in under graduate programs. It has a student to faculty ratio of 13:1 and the acceptance rate of 38%. The university offers a relatively intimate classes as more than 65% of its classes have less than 20 students. Pepperdine University athletics team competes in NCAA Division I and has produced 48 Olympians.
