The Petroleum Institute (PI) functions now as a multidisciplinary research center within Khalifa University’s Sas Al Nakhl Campus, specializing in oil, gas, and energy sectors. 
Originally founded in 2001 by an Emiri decree, PI later merged into Khalifa University in 2017.
