The Marjon campus infrastructure is designed to support a holistic student experience, with academic buildings including the Henry Durowe Centre housing the Faculty of Education, Enterprise and Culture, and the West building housing the library, computing and media services, health and biosciences teaching rooms, and the Business School known as THE EDGE. Teaching rooms are distributed across multiple buildings including the East (KCB) building with computer suites, music and sound studios, speech and language therapy clinics, and psychology labs; and the South building housing the Marjon Arts Centre with the Desmond Tutu Theatre and Old Chapel Studio. The campus also features the Octagon with a chapel, The Snug and a nap room, the Marshall Room for chaplaincy, and extensive car parking with accessible parking available free for Blue Badge holders, bus stops, cycle shelters, platform lifts and automatic external doors across all buildings.

Student Support

Student support at Marjon is centred around the Student Wellbeing and Support team, which provides guidance and assistance on mental health, disability support, wellbeing, funding and personal development, and also offers counselling services, with students able to contact the team by phone on 01752 636891 or by email. The Student Life Team supports, signposts, listens and provides a safe space for all students, working on issues such as mental health, adjusting to university life and healthy coping strategies, and is part of the out-of-hours service alongside Resident Student Assistants and Campus Security. The university also provides access to dedicated support services by phone between 4 pm and 11 pm, by text 24/7, and offers academic advice, student funding advice, disability and inclusion advice, and safeguarding support, and it works closely with the Student Union on all aspects of student support, participating in the Student Minds University Mental Health Charter programme to develop a whole university approach to wellbeing.

Housing facilities (Accommodation)

Accommodation at Marjon includes seven halls of residence and a student village of 38 houses, all located on campus, meaning students live at the heart of the campus with study, dining, social and sports facilities all on their doorstep. The benefits of living on-campus include a safe environment with 24/7 campus support from duty staff and senior resident students during term time, accommodation owned and managed by the University with no surprise fees, contents insurance, utility bills and broadband included, and low prices significantly lower than the average university-owned accommodation price in the South West of £166 per week. Standard rooms are priced at £126 per week and en suite rooms at £147 per week, with contracts for 42 weeks from September to July including Christmas and Easter vacations, and the university complies fully with the UUK Code of Practice for the Management of Student Housing.

Student Safety

Student safety at Marjon is supported by 24-hour security staff who are based at the Hub and will respond to incidents or emergencies, and urgent matters can be reported by dialling 2222 from any campus landline or 01752 636700 ext. 2222 from a mobile or external landline. The university has implemented a Resident Student Assistance programme consisting of second and third year students living in halls to ensure the wellbeing and safety of students within that building, and Student Life Officers provide out-of-hours emergency support alongside the Resident Student Assistants and Campus Security, working closely with Student Support & Wellbeing on wellbeing issues such as living arrangements, homesickness and mental and emotional health. The campus offers a safe, compact environment, with Plymouth being among the safest cities in the whole of the UK, and transport partnerships with Pryzm and Need-A-Cab help students get safely to and from nights out, while the university also operates a Prevent Policy in line with the Counter-Terrorism and Security Act 2015.

Career support is provided by the Marjon Futures team, which is Plymouth Marjon University's Careers, Employability and Enterprise department, committed to developing networks with employers and organisations to democratise and promote opportunities for Marjon students and graduates. The team offers free careers advice, job placement support, and career planning to all students during their studies and after graduation, covering topics including applying for jobs, graduate schemes and internships, preparing for an interview, volunteering, placements, work experience, studying abroad, CVs, covering letters and personal statements, postgraduate study, and job searching. Marjon Futures primarily uses a digital platform called Handshake to share opportunities with students and graduates, and organisations can sign up free of charge, with the team also running events throughout the year including the Wednesday Words of Wisdom programme and eFEST, a week-long programme that runs twice a year.
