The Pontifical Catholic University of Sao Paulo also known as PUC-CP and Pontificia Universidade Catolica de Sao Paulo is a private and non-profit university located in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The university was established in 1946 from the merger of School of Philosophy, Sciences, and Letters of Sao Bento and the Paulista School of Law and was founded by Sao Paulo archbishop Carlos Carmelo Vasconcellos Motta as Catholic University of Sao Paulo eventually adopting its present name in 1947.
