Post University was founded in the year 1990 as a private institution offering undergraduate and graduate programs. The 58-acre campus is located in Waterbury, Connecticut in the USA. The university is accredited by NEASC, and by the Connecticut Office of Higher Education.
The University offers 26 bachelors programs, 5 masters programs and certificate programs, concentrations, and minors. There are many online programs which are offered as accelerated degrees in eight-week modules, six times a year. In 2007, Post University became the first university in Connecticut, to offer an online MBA program.
Post University has enrollment strength of nearly 9000 students of which 800 students are enrolled at the university campus in Waterbury, and over 8000 students are taking online courses. Over 7000 students study undergraduate degrees, and nearly 600 students study graduate programs offered by the university. There is one faculty for every twenty-one students and has a selective acceptance rate of 41%.
The men and women’s athletics team is a member of NCAA Division II, CACC, and ECAC. Post University, in 2009, became the first New England University to be admitted to Collegiate Sprint Football League, where the Post Eagles compete against elite university teams like Princeton, UPenn, Cornell and many more. Students can also participate in Student Government Association and various clubs.
