Qatar University History

Qatar University was established in 1973. it’s a public university in Qatar, Located on the northern outskirts of capital Doha. The College began with a total of 150 students and later expanded to become a University of Qatar in 1977. Three years later they established a college of Engineering, and by then the students of enrollment was 2600. Which was followed by the establishment of the College of Business & Economics in 1985. The number of registrants for study at Qatar University increased eventually 1/6 of Population in Qatar.

Qatar University Programs, Courses, and Schools

Qatar University currently offers 30 programs at the graduate level; 21 Master's, 4 Diplomas, 3 PhDs, and 2 Doctoral programs. The University offers various programs and courses like College of Arts and Sciences, College of Business & Economics, College of Education, College of Engineering, College of Law, College of Medicine, College of Pharmacy, College of Sharia and Islamic Studies, College of Health Sciences. The English language is the language adopted and Arabic is used in some graduate programs.

Qatar University Campuses

Qatar University is located on the northern edge of Doha.  The location is excellent and overlooks the coast, the West Bay Lagoon housing complex and the Doha Golf Course on the eastern side. The Sports and Recreation section of the Student Activities Department at Qatar University has a variety of high-quality sports available. It also has a wide selection of programs and facilities which are available for use, inside and outside the male and female campus, for the students, alumni, teaching faculty, employees and their families.

University Achievements and USP

Qatar University was ranked 132rd in the world for “Best Global Universities for Computer Science.” in US news classification. Also received Golden Medal/ Platinum Medal on 15th Feb 2015 for Education Excellence Award.

Mohammed Saleh Al Sada (Minister of energy and industry of Qatar and the chairman of Qatar Petroleum), Moza bint Nasser (Has led education and social reforms in Qatar and has founded national and international development projects), Murad Naji Hussein (Qatari footballer), Nasser Al-Khelaifi (Chairman of beIN Media Group).
