Red River College

Red River College, often known as RRC Polytech, is a college located in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. The major institution in the province is RRC Polytech.

Red River College History

The Industrial Vocational Education Centre, the progenitor to RRC Polytech, was founded in the mid-1930s by three Winnipeggers: R.J. Johns, T.O. Durin, and Otto Peters. The center was renamed Manitoba Technical Institute (MTI) in 1948, and it became Manitoba's first public post-secondary vocational school. In 1969, the two sections merged under the name Red River Community College (RRCC), and the word "community" was deleted in 1998, giving rise to the current RRC Polytech.
