Renmin University of China History

Renmin University of China is an elite research university located in the Haidian District of Beijing, often referred to as RUC, or colloquially Renda. Founded by the Communist Party of China, RUC has the strongest reputation in humanities and social sciences and is classified as a Class A university under the Double First Class University Plan.

Renmin University of China Programs, Courses and Schools

Renmin University consists of 23 schools, 13 research institutes and graduate schools, with 60 specialities for graduate students, 8 specialities for undergraduate students, 140 specialities for graduate students and 92 specialities for graduate students. Renmin University has established its communication and cooperative relationships with 125 universities and research institutions from 32 countries and regions, enabling the University to be the centre of academic and cultural communications between China and abroad.

Renmin University of China Campuses

There are currently two active campuses at Renmin University of China, one under construction and one former campus. The main campus of Renmin University is located at No.59 Zhongguancun Street, Haidian District, and is less than a 5 - 10-minute drive from the nation's other top schools. At the Beijing campus, most schools, departments and institutes are currently located. Renmin University is currently hosting approximately 1,165 international students and many of the students come from South Korea. There are so many South Korean students that apart from their traditional Chinese menu, the International Students Dining Room has a separate Korean menu. Renmin University of China has a secondary campus in Suzhou Industrial Park, Jiangsu Province in the South - East. It is home to the RUC Sino - French Institute (IFC Renmin) and its 900 students from China and abroad.
