Ripon College

Ripon College, located in Ripon, Wisconsin, is a private liberal arts college. Since about fall 2018, the college has had approximately 800 students enrolled, the vast majority of whom live on campus.

Ripon College History

Ripon College was established in 1851, but its first class of students did not arrive until 1853. It was originally known as Brockway College, after William S. Brockway, who donated the most money, $25, in a fundraising effort. Ripon's first graduating class of four women was in June 1867.

Ripon University offers more than 80 areas of study, as well as unique pre-professional programs that provide qualified students with preferred and early admission into graduate programs as well as a fast-track to earning sought-after professional degrees sooner. Every student at Ripon College is expected to complete a major. The semester system is used at the college, and there are two optional three-week summer sessions known as Liberal Arts in Focus. These In Focus programs include both on-campus and off-campus courses in Italy, England, and other locations. Students can choose from 31 majors, a variety of pre-professional advising options, or design their own major.

Ripon College's USP/Achievements are that it is Wisconsin's best-value private college and a national leader in innovative liberal arts education. 98 percent of alumni are employed, either in graduate school or as student teachers, within six months of graduation. Ripon College Infrastructure & Services

Campus

The Ripon College campus is located in Ripon, Wisconsin, a friendly and safe community of just under 8,000 people. The Ripon College campus is 250 acres of tree-lined land with 27 buildings, 10 of which are on the National Register of Historic Places. Ripon College is a sustainable campus that is home to the Ceresco Prairie Conservancy, which is developing 130 acres of native prairie, oak savanna, and wetland habitat.

Library

Lane Library is the name of Ripon College's library. The main circulating collection of the library contains over 180,000 study materials that support the college's research needs. The stacks can be found on floors 3A, 2A, and 1A. The library has subscriptions to a wide range of popular and scholarly journals, magazines, and newspapers. The Franzen Center and the South Reading Room keep up with current issues. On floor 1, older issues are bound and stored. The Ripon College Archives is dedicated to preserve Ripon College's history from its inception to the present. It houses records, yearbooks, college newspapers, photographs, manuscripts, letters, and other college-related materials.

Housing services

The housing and living department at Ripon College provides housing services. Over 90% of Ripon students live on campus, with double and single rooms, suites, and apartments available for upperclassmen. Smoking is prohibited in all residence halls. Medical services

Ripon College's student health center provides medical services. The goal of Health Services is to keep the Ripon College student body in good physical health by providing accessible, educational, and cost-effective health care. Primary medical care is provided, and  to other community resources are coordinated as needed. Students are helped to acquire the knowledge, skills, and behaviours required to recover, build, and maintain health. During the academic year, all enrolled students receive medical care Monday through Friday. Walk-in nursing visits are available from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Fee-for-service physician services are available in the community. Before scheduling, it is recommended that you review your personal health insurance coverage. Ripon Medical Center provides emergency and urgent care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Students clubs

Ripon College has over 60 student-run clubs and organizations, ranging from pre-professional program to paintballing. Ripon students are encouraged to lead the program, which are funded by the Student Senate's activity fee. This allows students to work together to create, organise, market, and develop unique activities.

Student Support Services (SSS) is a federally funded United States Department of Education TRIO program that provides a network of academic, personal, and career services to 160 students on the Ripon campus who are first-generation, low-income, or physically or learning disabled.

Sports and Fitness

Willmore Center provides Ripon College with sports and fitness facilities. Willmore Center, which houses the athletics and exercise science departments, is the main health and wellness facility on campus. The center, named after alumna and Honorary Life Trustee Dena G. Willmore, opened in August 2017 following a $22 million renovation and expansion. Willmore Center also has three fitness studios, a weight room, and a cardio balcony. Ripon's indoor track and field teams are housed in the new field house. The Doug and Audrey Lyke Memorial Track, an NCAA-regulated track for pit and field events, and four multipurpose performance courts named after Ron '70 and Loretta Law Peterson are part of the 65,000-square-foot area. Netting is provided for competition basketball, volleyball, and tennis on the courts.

The counseling department at Ripon College provides health and well-being services. Counseling Services exists to support Ripon College's educational mission. The Counseling Center believes in providing mental health services that promote the growth and development of all students - not just during their academic journey at Ripon, but throughout their lives. They strive to foster personal development, psychological well-being, and a safe environment for self-discovery. Students' interactions with counselors are strictly confidential. The boundaries of confidentiality, as well as any exceptions, will be discussed with each student at the initial appointment.

Residential Life

Ripon College's residential life is beautiful and full of life-changing learning opportunities. The residential experience is an essential component of life at Ripon College. Some of your best teachers will be your classmates, with whom you will form lifelong friendships, learn to tolerate personal differences, and develop your character and leadership skills. On campus, there are eight residence halls that provide a variety of living options. First-year students are typically housed in groups of no more than 20. First-year students who pledge fraternities and sororities live in their halls until their sophomore year, when they move to upper-class housing.

 Part time Jobs

Offices and departments at Ripon College actively recruit current students for a variety of on-campus positions.
