Rose Hulman Institute of Technology History

Rose Hulman Institute of Technology's history started in 1874 as the Terre Haute School of Industrial Science. Chauncey Rose was the founder of the institution. It was started to provide technical training to the local engineers. After a year, it changed its name to Rose Polytechnic Institute. It was the first chemical engineering degree in the country.
