Stockholm, Sweden
General Requirements
Applicants must hold a recognised Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) corresponding to a Swedish first-cycle degree (typically 180 ECTS credits) from an internationally recognised university.
For students from Swedish universities, there is often a requirement of having completed a certain number of credits (e.g., 150 ECTS) by a specified date if still studying.
English language proficiency: For many programmes, an acceptable test score is required — for example IELTS Academic overall 6.5 or TOEFL iBT 90 (or equivalent) is commonly cited.
Programme-specific requirements: Many Master’s programmes have additional criteria, such as prior subject-area coursework, mathematics/statistics background, or other technical prerequisites.
Application Process & Deadlines
Application for most Master’s programmes goes via University Admissions; the portal opens in the autumn and the main deadline is generally 15 January for programmes starting in the autumn semester.
Required documents include: degree certificates, transcript of records, proof of English proficiency, passport copy/ID, sometimes a motivation letter or CV depending on the programme.
Application fee: Non-EU/EEA applicants typically pay an application fee (SEK 900) before the document deadline.
