Sao Paulo State University is also known as UNESP or Universidade Estadual Paulista is a Brazilian university located in the city of Sao Paulo. The university is inspired by the University of California Education System and is based across 23 campuses. It was established in 1976 and enrolls over 45,000 students and employs 10,000+ staff.

Sao Paulo State University has 23 campuses spread across the state mainly in Araçatuba, Araraquara, Assis, Botucatu, Franca, Guaratinguetá, Ilha Solteira, Jaboticabal, Marília, Presidente Prudente, Rio Claro, São José dos Campos, and São José do Rio Preto. These campuses house over 1900 laboratories and 30 libraries totaling over 900,000 titles available.
Sao Paulo State University also offers facilities like gardens, parks, museums, botanical gardens, and experimental farms which are spread over an area of 62.8 million metre square making it one of the largest universities in Brazil. The university also offers extensive sporting, health, and recreational facilities to the students in addition to shops, restaurants, banks, and a hospital.
