Savannah College of Art and Design residents embark on a life-long learning journey. Residential communities at Savannah College of Art and Design promote learning outside of the classroom, celebrate diversity, and foster social, emotional, intellectual, and cultural development.
The counseling center at Savannah College of Art and Design provides health and well-being services. It is beneficial to have dedicated experts to guide you through your collegiate journey as you enter a time of change, development, and growth. The counseling and student support services office works with students to ensure they are in the right frame of mind to excel both in and out of the classroom, from counseling to accessibility services. Current students can schedule an initial counseling and support services session by calling during regular office hours.


Part-time employment is permitted for Savannah College of Art and Design students, and many work-study positions are advertised by campus offices on Handshake, the Career Center's online job posting site. Upload an updated, college-level resume to your Handshake profile to apply for open positions; once reviewed, you will receive constructive feedback or an approval notice. In addition to a social security number, some international students may require additional work authorization.

Savannah College of Art and Design has marked significant achievements in the past. The National Architectural Accrediting Board has accredited the professional M.Arch degree. The Georgia Professional Standards Commission has approved SCAD's Master of Arts in Teaching degrees. The South Carolina Commission on Higher Education has granted SCAD accreditation. The Council for Interior Design Accreditation has recognized SCAD's Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in interior design.


SCAD's endowment has grown from less than $1 million in 2000 to $366 million in 2024.
SCAD alumni have worked on many notable projects, including Avatar: The Way of Water and several films nominated for best animated feature at the 2023 Academy Awards.
SCAD has been ranked as the top design university in the US by Red Dot Design for six years in a row.
SCAD has over 100 buildings across three locations on two continents, and one of the largest physical libraries holdings of art, design, and music schools in the country.
SCAD has maintained its SACSCOC accreditation, earning a ten-year reaffirmation with no recommendations for improvement in 2010 and 2020.
The Savannah College of Art and Design has established a Performance Innovation Lab to cater to the needs of students and faculty in research and performance enhancement.
