Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences was established in the year 1991 and is located in Schmalkalden, Germany. The university is partnered with over 120 universities worldwide.

Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences comprises five faculties; Faculty of Business Law, Faculty of Business and Economics, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Computer Science, and Faculty of Electrical Engineering. The university also comprises The International Summer School that focuses on the challenges confronting the world economy under the conditions of cross-cultural management. The university offers summer German Language Courses on three levels with the aim to provide basic communicative skills.

Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences has more than 3,000 students in each faculty.

Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences offers scholarship opportunities to the students on the basis of academic excellence. The university has several central units like; Cellarius Library centre, International Office centre, Computer Centre, Foreign Language Centre, University Sports centre and the center for continuing education. The university also has The International Engineering Week, which is an opportunity for international students to participate in lectures and free time activities. This week gives international students the opportunity to get to know each other. As a special bonus, students can also take the final exam and receive 2.5 ECTS credit points.
