The research labs and classrooms of the Scuola Normale Superiore are housed in nine historic buildings in Pisa and one in Florence, which are situated in the center of both towns. Additionally, a different structure called the Palazzone in Cortona (Arezzo) is utilized for orientation classes and conferences. The colleges: up to 24 students from the advanced course reside in the Florentine residence, while students from the ordinary course are housed in the Pisa colleges. There are common spaces within the colleges, including study/library rooms, gyms, movie theaters, music rooms, entertainment facilities with TVs and board games, and computer rooms. The SNS offers students free access to certain spaces for use as a gym, a loan facility for movies, music, books, and scores, and musical instruments placed throughout the various institutions.
