Student life at Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences (SEAMK) is vibrant, international, and community-oriented. With around 6,000 students, including hundreds of international students, SEAMK offers a welcoming environment where academic learning is complemented by social activities, cultural events, sports, and practical industry projects. New students participate in Welcome Days and orientation programmes, where they meet fellow students, tutors, university staff, and representatives from student support services, helping them settle smoothly into university life.

A central part of student life is the Student Union SAMO, which organizes student parties, cultural events, sports activities, excursions, workshops, international trips, tutoring programmes, and networking events throughout the year. International tutors help new students adapt to Finnish life, while student clubs and recreational activities provide opportunities to build friendships and develop leadership skills. Students also enjoy the city's lively cultural scene, outdoor recreation, and major annual festivals such as Provinssi and Tangomarkkinat, making Seinäjoki an active and enjoyable place to study. SEAMK also encourages students to participate in internships, research projects, entrepreneurship activities, and exchange programmes, ensuring a balanced university experience that combines academic success, professional development, and an engaging social life. 

Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences (SEAMK) has a strong career development and employer engagement system that focuses on preparing students for employment through internships, company projects, research collaborations, and direct interaction with industry. Rather than operating a traditional centralized placement system, SEAMK works closely with regional, national, and international employers to provide students with internships, thesis projects, part-time jobs, graduate positions, and entrepreneurship opportunities. Career guidance, CV workshops, interview preparation, and networking events are integrated into students' studies to enhance employability.

SEAMK maintains extensive partnerships with approximately 600 companies and organizations each year, collaborating on around 140 research, development, and innovation (RDI) projects, many of which involve students. Employers participate through guest lectures, company visits, recruitment events, business assignments, and innovation projects, enabling students to build professional networks before graduation.
