The Sheridan College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning, commonly known as Sheridan College was founded in 1967. More than 50 years old this public college offer programs at three campuses in Ontario: at Brampton, Mississauga and Oakville.
Sheridan comprises of five faculties: Faculty of Animation, Arts and Design, Faculty of Applied Health and Community Studies, Faculty of Applied Science and Technology, Faculty of Business and Faculty of Humanties and social Science. Sheridan offers more than 120 programs, including 25 degree programs. It also offers more than 200 programs in continuing and professional studies. Sheridan has 4 main research centers as Center for Elder Research, Screen Industries Research and Training Centre (SIRT), Center for Advanced Manufacturing and Design Technologies (CAMDT) and Center for Mobile Innovation (CMI).
Sheridan has grown from a local college of 400 students to one of Ontario’s leading postsecondary institutions, educating approximately 23,000 full-time and 3,600 part-time (Overall Campuses) students every year. Sheridan has three on-campus residences: one at Davis Campus (Brampton), which houses 350 students, and two at Trafalgar Road Campus (Oakville), which collectively house 824 students.
Hazel McCallion Campus (HMC) is home to the Pilon School of Business. This campus is tucked right in the heart of Mississauga, Ontario — Canada's sixth-largest city. In 2017, HMC officially opened a brand new wing, increasing enrolment capacity to over 5,500 students. The new wing offers additional classrooms, studios, labs and production spaces, a Centre for Creative Thinking, and a gallery space to showcase students' creativity and innovation. Programs offered in the new building include a grouping related to sustainable built environments, including Architectural Technology, Interior Design and Interior Decorating. Programs in Advertising, Marketing and Visual Merchandising complement the business diploma, degree and graduate certificate programs that have been offered at HMC since its opening in 2011.
