What is the unique educational model of SHG Portugal?

SHG Portugal follows a “learning by doing” model where each year, students complete 6 months of intensive academic courses followed by 6 months of paid internships in luxury hotels, provided and arranged by the school.

What languages are spoken and taught at SHG Portugal?

All courses at SHG Portugal are conducted in English. In addition to the main language of instruction, the school also functions as a language center where students can learn and practice French, English, Italian, German, Spanish, Chinese, Russian, and Arabic. This multilingual environment prepares students for international careers in the global hospitality and tourism industries.

What are the requirements to apply to SHG Portugal?

To apply, you must fill in the online application form and attach your updated CV, a copy of your Passport or ID, your grades from the last two years of study, and any diplomas obtained so far.

What are the fees and are there any fully funded options?

For EU students, the tuition fee is €8,900 per year, and for non-EU students, it is €11,900 per year. However, all students receive a paid internship salary of €400 per month (€4,800 per year) from their partner hotels. Additionally, for local students who live in Lisbon and are fluent in Portuguese, there is a fully funded program where partner hotels finance the entire cost of their studies.

Yes, international graduates in Portugal may remain in the country and transition from a student residence permit to a professional one under Article 122 of Portuguese Immigration Law

Is it possible to work while studying at SHG Portugal?

Higher-education students on a student residence permit in Portugal can work, whether employed or self-employed, as long as it remains complementary to their studies
