Siena College History

The Order of Friars Minor established Siena College in 1937. The Siena College was named after Bernardino of Siena, a 15th-century Italian Franciscan friar and preacher.

Siena College is a 174-acre (70-hectare) suburban campus on the outskirts of Loudonville. On the campus, you'll find: The Siena Hall

The main college building, including houses classrooms as well as administrative and faculty offices. The cupola at the top serves as the college's symbol, appearing on the college logo as well as most printed and web material. Library of J. Spencer and Patricia Standish It was built in 1999 and has 400,000 books, seating for 700 readers, 500 computer connections, 100 computer work stations, an audio-visual centre, an archive and special collections suite, 11 group study rooms, 16 faculty carrels, and training laboratory and demonstration classrooms.

Roger Bacon Memorial Hall the School of Science offices and classrooms, as well as the Computer Science, are located here.

     J. Spencer & Patricia Standish Library is the name of Siena College's library. The J. Spencer & Patricia Standish Library, which opened in 1999, has 400,000 books, seating for 700 readers, 500 computer connections, 100 computer work stations, an audio-visual centre, an archive and special collections suite, 11 group study rooms, 16 faculty carrels, and training laboratory and demonstration classrooms.
