1. International students applying for a postgraduate Master's programme in Physiotherapy at SOMT University of Physiotherapy generally need a recognized Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy.

2. Depending on the specialization, applicants may also need professional registration as a physiotherapist in the Netherlands. For example, the Master's in Manual Therapy requires a recognized Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy or a medical degree with BIG registration, while the Master's in Sports Physiotherapy requires a recognized Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy and BIG registration.

3. International applicants should have their previous qualifications assessed for recognition in the Netherlands and submit degree certificates, academic transcripts, and relevant professional registration documents.

4. Applicants with previously acquired specialist qualifications or Master's degrees may be eligible for exemptions or an accelerated pathway, but these are assessed individually by SOMT's Examination Board based on previous education, professional experience, certificates, and demonstrated competencies.

5. An important consideration for international students is language proficiency. SOMT currently teaches most Master's programmes in Dutch, so sufficient Dutch language proficiency is required for participation in teaching and clinical components.

6. SOMT is working toward offering the Master Manual Therapy and Master Sports Physical Therapy in English from 1 January 2027.
