It was formally established on May 1, 2022, through the merger of Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT) and Institute of Technology, Carlow.

Student Support

A variety of services are offered by SETU Student Support Services with the goal of assisting students both throughout their stay at South East Technological University and during the transfer to third level. The Student Support team assists students with a wide range of problems, such as academic and personal issues. The crew will definitely send you to someone who can help if they are unable to. On the Waterford, Carlow, and Wexford campuses, SETU Access teams strive to improve the access, participation, and completion of courses for students from underrepresented groups. They assist students throughout every phase of their academic careers. 

SETU is dedicated to ensuring that students with disabilities have fair access to their course of study and to a policy of equal chances in education. In order to receive assistance, students with impairments are urged to register with the appropriate campus disability office.

Housing facilities (Accommodation)

In addition to providing on-campus accommodation (Waterford City & College Campuses), South East Technological University (SETU) facilitates off-campus housing searches via SETU Studentpad, a site for approved private rentals close to its campuses (Waterford, Carlow, Wexford). Application fees, deposits, and annual utility and parking costs (such as Wi-Fi, garbage, and electricity credit) are all part of the accommodations; reservations for on-campus choices open periodically. Three of the 66 single-en suite rooms on the college campus are accessible to people with disabilities. All SETU services and amenities are easily accessible from these on-site flats on the Cork Road Campus. The College Campus has the following amenities:

Wi-Fi, resident parking, laundry facilities, live-in wardens, CCTV, and round-the-clock security
