Southern University of Science and Technology History

Southern University of Science and Technology was established in the year 2009 but it became operational in 2011. It is a public and research university which is situated in Shenzhen in China. It was opened as the South University of Science and Technology but in 2016, it acquired its current name. It is a public funded university.

Southern University of Science and Technology is a renowned university, both globally and nationally. It has got seven academic schools and 25 departments. It offers undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral and overseas education programs in different areas of study. Research and STEM curriculum is also followed.

Student to faculty ratio is 10:1. All the faculties hold PhD degree in their field of study and majority of them have taught in the world’s top 100 universities. It is known for its education in research, innovation and entrepreneurship taught bilingually.

Southern University of Science and Technology has the urban and eco-friendly campus of 480 acres. Facilities available are dining, research labs, sports arena, swimming pool, recreational area, cultural centre, fitness centre and auditorium. Student clubs and organizations help students to explore their ideas.

Lynn Library is one of the most modern libraries of South China with the collection of books, journals, documents, magazines and research guides. Databases, tutorials, internet and study rooms are accessible by the students and faculties.

Southern University of Science and Technology has been ranked among the top The Young University Rankings. The World University Rankings had ranked it among top 10 universities of China and is among the fastest growing universities of the world. It is internationally acclaimed for its research and the Times Higher Education Asian Universities Summit 2018 was held here.
