St. George's Hospital Medical School places a high priority on student safety through a number of initiatives, such as committed security guards, strict health and safety regulations, and an emphasis on patient safety in the clinical setting. They use CCTV, alarms, and access control systems, maintain a constant security presence, and manage building security from a single control centre. In order to assist students with health-related requirements during their coursework and clinical rotations, the university also offers Occupational Health services.
