State University of New York at Oswego was founded back in the year 1861 by Edward Austin Sheldon. He is one of the most renowned personalities who introduced us to some of the teaching methods. Initially the university began as Oswego Primary Teachers’ Training School. In 1913, the university moved from Oswego to where it is located today close to the lake and is known as Sheldon Hall. In 1948, State University of New York at Oswego became a part of the SUNY group of universities. The university over the years expanded its campus by added more buildings and courses. The university campus consists of now 58 buildings in total. The university also carries with it it's long standing tradition that is still in practice today. State University of New York at Oswego also now has extended a campus in Syracuse that offers graduate programs. The university now has around 8000 students enrolled in various programs and courses.

State University of New York at Oswego Campus near the Lake Ontario and has an extension center at Syracuse, New York. The campus is a huge campus that is spread across 700 acres and consists of around 58 buildings. The university also has launched a $700 million project to renovate the campus. The university has now a social hub point that is named as Marano Campus Center complex. There is one most famous the Tyler Art Gallery. Sports and Fitness

State University of New York at Oswego has their own Glimmerglass fitness center. The fitness center has all the facilities and even provide a personal trainer. The university has its own athletic team that competes at the NCAA Division III.
