The State University of New York at Plattsburgh (also called SUNY Plattsburgh) is a public college in Plattsburgh, New York. Founded in 1889, it started officially operating in 1890. Currently, the university has 5109 students out of which 4680 are undergraduate students and 387 are post-graduate students. Its parent institution is the State University of New York.  The current president of the university is Alexander Enyedi.

SUNY Plattsburgh is built on a campus of 256 acres and consists of 36 buildings. The campus is constructed near Lake Champlain and among the Adirondack Mountains. In the center of the campus lies Amite Plaza, a large outdoor courtyard surrounded by all the important buildings including the Angell College Center, the Myers Fine Arts Building and Feinberg Library.

Accommodation

SUNY Plattsburgh provides on campus housing and living facilities to students. All the students are required to live on-campus for first two years (four semester) of their study after which they can opt for off campus accommodation. Students are exempted from this college policy only if they are married, have children, are veterans, are living with their parents or guardians and some other exceptions which are decided by the college.

The SUNY Plattsburgh Field House which was first opened in 1972 is used for training by the men’s and women’s cross country, hockey, basketball soccer, softball, lacrosse and track teams.
