The State University of New York Health Science Center at Brooklyn is a public medical school in New York City and one of three components of SUNY Downstate Medical Center: University Hospital at Long Island College Hospital, SUNY Downstate at Bay Ridge (formerly Victory Memorial Hospital), and University Hospital of Brooklyn in East Flatbush, all of which are staffed by SUNY Downstate College of Medicine.

The Health Sciences Education Building, located at 395 Lenox Road, houses the majority of the preclinical learning activities. Clinical rotations are held at the University Hospital of Brooklyn (UHB), the main teaching hospital at SUNY Downstate, the Kings County Hospital Center, which is located directly across the street from UHB, the Brooklyn Veteran's Administration Hospital, and the Staten Island University Hospital, among other locations.

 The Health Sciences Education Building houses the State University of New York Health Science Center at Brooklyn Library, which spans three floors (HSEB). The Library Information Commons, located on the first floor, is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. There is a designated eating area in the Library Information Commons, as well as collaborative learning spaces and individual carrels for private study. The second floor is a designated silent study area as well as a group study area. The Advanced Learning Resource Center, which includes individual carrels and classrooms, is located on the basement level. The collection is a hybrid of print and electronic resources that serves the academic, clinical, and research needs of numerous health-related programs.

Each occupant has a twin-size bed, desk, dresser, and closet, as well as a standing floor lamp in their studio apartment. Each apartment has a fully equipped compact kitchen and a private bathroom.
