No, Suffolk University itself does not issue work visas. Instead, international students can apply for the U.S. government’s Optional Practical Training (OPT) program, which allows them to work in the U.S. after graduation.
Suffolk’s International Student Services Office (ISSO) helps students through the process by providing guidance, supporting documentation, and recommending students for OPT in the SEVIS system via their Designated School Official (DSO).
Most international students on OPT can work for up to 12 months. However, those with eligible STEM degrees may apply for a 24-month STEM OPT extension, making a total of up to 36 months.
