The infrastructure of the Technological University of the Shannon (TUS) Thurles Campus is modern, compact, and designed to support practical, career-focused education. The campus features well-equipped lecture theatres, science laboratories, computer suites, specialist games development labs, a library, and a 200-seat conference centre, providing students with a comprehensive learning environment. It also benefits from strong digital and academic facilities that support programmes in sports science, business, social care, agricultural science, environmental science, and software development.
A standout feature of the campus is the SportsLab, a world-class 2,000-square-metre strength and conditioning facility. It includes a 45-metre six-lane sprint track, Olympic lifting platforms, functional screening equipment, Paralympic training areas, and advanced sports technologies such as GPS and motion-analysis systems, making it one of Ireland’s leading sports performance and sports science facilities. Plans have also been approved to expand the complex with tennis courts, GAA pitches, and all-weather playing facilities.
