It includes a 45-metre six-lane sprint track, Olympic lifting platforms, functional screening equipment, Paralympic training areas, and advanced sports technologies such as GPS and motion-analysis systems, making it one of Ireland’s leading sports performance and sports science facilities. Plans have also been approved to expand the complex with tennis courts, GAA pitches, and all-weather playing facilities.

Housing facilities (Accommodation)

The Technological University of the Shannon (TUS) Thurles Campus does not currently provide university owned or on campus student accommodation. Instead, students are supported by the TUS Global Accommodation Team and the Students’ Union, which help them find suitable housing options, provide accommodation advice, and offer guidance on avoiding rental scams.
