Texas A and M University Corpus Christ History

Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi sometime it’s known as A&M CC, it is a popular public research university which is located in Corpus Christi, Texas, USA.

Texas A & M University was founded in 1947 as a private university by the Baptist General Convention of Texas as an operating convention (BGCT).

After Hurricane Celia nearly devastated the campus in 1970, the institution (which had been experiencing financial difficulties from the start) couldn't afford to rebuild and turned to the Texas Legislature for help. The following year, the Texas Legislature approved the establishment of a branch of the Texas A & M University System; UCC graduated its final class in 1973, and BGCT sold the site to the state shortly after, keeping 10 acres for a student religious centre. It was once known as Texas A&I University at Corpus Christi, then Corpus Christi State University, before entering the Texas A &M University System in 1989 and receiving its current name.
