Texas Wesleyan University is a private, coeducational liberal arts university founded by the  Methodist Episcopal Church in 1890. The main campus is located in the Polytechinic Heights Neighborhood of Fort Worth. The university is located on a 75 acre campus in Fort Worth, Texas. The Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools accredits Texas Wesleyan. The School of Law is accredited by the American Bar Association and is a member of the American Association of Law Schools.

Throughout its history the University has remained closely affiliated with the United Methodist Church. In keeping the Methodist tradition, the University welcomes individuals of all the faiths.

It follows a semester based academic calendar. Texas Wesleyan University comprises of four schools: School of Natural and Social Sciences, School of Business Administration, School of Arts & Letters and School of Education. The university also offers a Graduate Programs of Nurse Anesthesia. Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services, Multi/Interdisciplinary Studies, Psychology, Education and Homeland Security, Law Enforcement and Related Protective Services are the most popular majors at the university. The university offers 31 undergraduate majors (7 types of under graduate degrees) and 4 graduate programs (10 types of graduate degrees).

We have revised our curriculum to more closely reflect the direction of the mass communication industry. Our curriculum focuses on giving students a solid grounding in the fundamentals of mass communication such as writing, interviewing, editing and problem solving while focusing on how to effectively use the latest digital, mobile and social media outlets available. Our students emerge from Texas Wesleyan with a portfolio of professional-level work and experiences that are tailored to their own career goals. Small classes allow us to work with area nonprofits to create award-winning public relations campaigns and award-winning newsletters and multimedia websites that include audio, video, photos and text. A required semester of work in Rambler Media Group, Texas Wesleyan,s award-winning multi-platform student media group, provides students with deadline-oriented experience in news media and an integrated marketing communications firm. Texas Wesleyan is located within a top 5 media market. Our faculty members work with local news media as well as advertising and public relations professionals to schedule tours and classroom visits throughout the year. In the Texas Wesleyan Department of Music, you are our first priority. With numerous performing ensembles, special events year-round, and plenty of time with your private instructors and coaches, you never have to miss a beat. We ll give you ample opportunity to hone your musical skills with your professors and your peers. We offer two distinct baccalaureate degrees: a Bachelor of Arts in Music, or a Bachelor of Music Education with All-Level Certification. Many may initially associate the study of religion with the examination of dusty texts and ancient history. The study of religion is, in fact, the exploration of thriving and active communities and cultures from around the globe. We offer majors and minors in both the fields of Christian Studies and Comparative Religious Studies. Christian Studies minors include: Christian Ministries, Philosophy and Religion.
