For Dutch and EU students, applications are accepted throughout the year until the first week of lectures. For international students requiring a visa, the deadline for September enrolment is 15th June, and for January enrolment it is 15th October. For bachelor's programmes, you need completion of Grade 12 or equivalent with 50-55% minimum, plus English proficiency of IELTS 6.0 (no band below 5.5) or TOEFL iBT 80. For the MBA, you need a bachelor's degree from a recognised university with 50-55% minimum; no prior work experience is required, though basic understanding of finance and marketing is recommended. Tio offers two scholarships for non-Dutch students enrolling in full-degree programmes. The Tio Super Talent Scholarship provides a 50% tuition fee reduction for one academic year, awarded to top-performing applicants with exceptional English proficiency. The Tio Talent Scholarship provides a 25% reduction. Both scholarships are application-based and can be reapplied for annually if eligibility criteria continue to be met

Scholarship applications are evaluated based on English language proficiency scores and overall academic profile. Students must submit their scholarship application along with their programme application, demonstrating outstanding results to qualify. Scholarships are limited in number, so early application is strongly advised. Successful applicants receive the reduction applied directly to their tuition fees

Tio arranges student housing for all non-EU/EEA applicants who require a visa, ensuring accommodation near campus is available upon arrival. Housing is allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, with options ranging from budget-friendly shared student rooms to private apartments. Since on-campus housing is uncommon in the Netherlands, Tio assists students in securing rooms in shared student houses and recommends starting the housing search early due to high demand .

If you are from outside the EU/EEA and plan to study for more than 90 days, you need both an entry visa (MVV) and a residence permit (VVR). Tio handles the application process on your behalf, submitting the request to the Dutch Immigration and Naturalisation Service (IND). The application deadline for students needing a visa is 15th June for September enrolment and 15th October for January enrolment. You must demonstrate sufficient financial means for living costs, and Tio requires payment of the non-EU package fee upfront to begin the visa process, which covers visa arrangements, health insurance, first-year housing, airport pickup, and security deposit .

After graduating from Tio, you may be eligible for the orientation year visa (zoekjaar), which allows you to stay in the Netherlands for one year to find work as a highly skilled migrant. The majority of Tio graduates secure employment within three to six months of finishing their degree, attributed to the university's practical, industry-focused education and strong network of professional connections. During studies, international students are permitted to work up to 10 hours per week or full-time during summer months, though a work permit may be required depending on nationality .
