Tsinghua University is a research university that was established in 1911 and is located in Beijing, China. Tsinghua University campus has been named one of the most beautiful campuses in the world by a panel of architects and campus designers in Forbes in 2010.

Tsinghua University Scholarships

1. Schwarzman Scholars Program at Tsinghua University

Created to prepare the future line of global leaders, Schwarzman Scholars is the first scholarship created to respond to the geopolitical landscape of the 21st Century. The program is confident that it will come up with the world’s best and brightest students the opportunity to develop their leadership skills and professional networks through a one-year Master’s Degree at the  Tsinghua University within Beijing – one of China’s most distinguished universities.

Eligibility Criteria/ Scholarship Guidelines

Undergraduate degree or first degree from an authorized college or university or its equivalent. Candidates are presently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program must be on track to successfully complete all degree requirements before August 1 of their Schwarzman Scholars enrollment year. There aren’t any prerequisites for a specific field of undergraduate study; all fields are welcome, but it is important for applicants, regardless of undergraduate major, to articulate how taking part in Schwarzman Scholars will help in the growth of their leadership potential within their field.

Age Requirement.

Applicants are expected to be at least 18 but not yet 29 years of age as of August 1 of their Schwarzman Scholars enrollment year.

English language proficiency.

Candidates must showcase strong English language skills, as all teaching will be conducted in English. If the candidate’s native language is not English, official English proficiency test scores should be submitted with the application. Acceptable test options are:

• A Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL PBT). The minimum score required is 600.

• An internet-based Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL iBT). The minimum score required is 100.

• An international English Language Testing System (IELTS). Minimum score 7.

The prerequisite is inapplicable for candidates who graduated from an undergraduate institution where the primary language of instruction was English for at least two years of the applicant’s academic program.  The requirement will also be waived for candidates who have studied in English for two or more years at a Master’s degree level or higher.
