United States Coast Guard Academy History                                       

United States Coast Guard Academy abbreviated as USCGA is an American service academy headed by the United States Coast Guard located in New London, Connecticut. The academy was established in 1876 as Revenue Cutter Service School of Instruction and adopted its present name in 1915. It currently enrols over 1000 cadets.

United States Coast Guard Academy awards Bachelor of Science degrees in addition to commissioning the cadets to United State Coast Guards. Some of the subjects on offer include Civil Engineering, Electronics and Electrical Engineering, and Cyber Systems.

United States Coast Guard Academy USP

United States Coast Guard Academy only offers admissions to US Citizens and the admission is not open to International students. The academy is also highly selective with an acceptance rate of just 21% owing to rigorous admission policies.

United States Coast Guard Academy also offers numerous opportunities for the cadets to participate in athletic and music events in addition to the World Model UN Conference. The cadets also receive generous stipends for books, uniforms, and other necessary items.
