The below information is required while
completing the university application :
Applicants must hold a recognized bachelor’s degree (minimum three years of higher education or about 180 ECTS credits) in a relevant field. The degree must allow access to master’s studies in the country where it was obtained.
For many programs especially for non EU applicants the university expects a minimum academic average of around 13/20 (about 65%) in previous university studies. Applications are evaluated by the academic admissions committee of the faculty.
Students must prove proficiency in the language of instruction:
French-taught programs: proof of French language ability (usually B2 level).
English-taught programs: tests such as IELTS (about 7.0), TOEFL iBT (around 95), or equivalent C1-level certification may be required depending on the program.
International applicants generally need to submit:
Completed online application form
Bachelor’s degree certificate and academic transcripts
Curriculum vitae (CV)
Motivation letter explaining the study plan
Language proficiency certificate
Copy of passport or identity document.
Some master’s programs may require additional coursework, entrance evaluations, or prerequisite subjects to ensure the applicant has the necessary academic background for the program.

A major institutional achievement occurred in 2023, when Université Saint-Louis – Bruxelles officially became UCLouvain Saint-Louis Bruxelles after merging with the UCLouvain. The merger enhanced research collaboration, international visibility, and academic opportunities for students.
In 2023, the university expanded its academic structure with the integration of the Marie Haps Faculty of Translation and Interpreting into the campus. This strengthened the university’s expertise in translation studies, multilingual communication, and international language education.
In 2015, the university expanded its multilingual education system, introducing more bilingual and trilingual programs combining French, English, and Dutch. This achievement strengthened its reputation as a leading institution for multilingual higher education in Brussels.
In 2021, researchers from UCLouvain Saint-Louis Bruxelles helped establish the DRAILS (Data, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, Law and Society) research group. The initiative studies how emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, robotics, and big data affect society, governance, and legal systems. The project promotes interdisciplinary research combining law, ethics, social sciences, and technology regulation to understand the societal impact of digital transformation.
Since 2021, researchers from UCLouvain Saint-Louis Bruxelles have participated in major European research and innovation programs such as Horizon Europe, the European Research Council (ERC), and Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions. These initiatives support international collaboration, mobility of researchers, and innovative research projects addressing global societal challenges.
Between 2019 and 2023, scholars from the university participated in the PROSEco (Platforms Operations and Regulation in the Sharing Economy) project. The research focused on understanding how digital platforms in the sharing economy such as online marketplaces and service platforms affect workers, consumers, and public policy. The project contributed to policy discussions on platform regulation, digital labor markets, and economic governance in Europe.
